You Should Hire an Interior Designer because...

Recently we have been getting a lot of questions from people who are new to the interior design world. We know a lot of you are curious about how this process works and why an interior designer is the best choice when designing your space. So, here at Riese Design, we wanted to take some time to answer your most frequently asked questions! In this article we will hear from the owner of Riese Design herself to see what her take is on this topic.

  • What are some of the benefits for having an interior designer?

“Aside from the visionary aspect of it, people in general are very busy these days so having someone there to organize and implement the design is one of the biggest pluses. This is especially true for those who have the visual capability but don’t have the time for carrying things out.”

  • Why do people prefer to have a designer over doing it themselves?

“A lot of times when people are ready for change it’s better to hire a professional because it is easier to come out of your comfort zone! You’re receiving the benefits of having someone with a fresh mind from the outside showing you what a space could be instead of what you’re used to looking at for so long.”

  • Is it worth the money?

Absolutely! Hiring a professional tradesperson is an investment that’s worth every penny when you know that it’ll be done right the first time and when you know you’ll be taken care of through all aspects of the project.”

  • Do you find that projects are done more efficiently when using a designer?

Definitely! Designers are not only there for creative purposes but for management purposes as well. Part of a designer’s job is to have a contingency plan if something ever goes awry during a project. We’re here to help make the project go as smoothly and enjoyable as possible.

  • What if a client has no idea what they want their space to look like?

That’s what the consultation is for. It is basically a two way interview for the potential client to see if the designer is a good fit for them and so the designer can pinpoint what your style is and what the focus is of your design. As an interior designer it’s our job to ascertain, or figure out, the overall personality of the space according to who the users of the space are. We ask some basic questions to evaluate your personal style and preferences so we can make your space perfectly tailored to you!

  • What if a client has a very specific idea as to how they want their space to look?

Specific is good as long I am still able to creatively carry out my job. Remember, the main purpose of having a designer is to put new twists on your ideas and to get you out of your comfort zone. I of course want to carry out their vison but I definitely want the owners of the space to be open to different ideas within their vison.

  • What is your main goal as an interior designer?

Beautifying homes one space at a time! I want to help bring to life visons that others can’t necessarily execute on their own. I want transform your home or space into everything you have always imagined it to be. As a team, we will ensure its functionality, beauty, and strive towards a design that will truly make you happy. On top of that, we strive for such great customer service and hope the relationship goes from business to a personal friendship.
